Figure Study - Leighla - Electric Guitar

It was a pleasure to have Leighla, the lead singer and guitarist from the all girl band ‘Not That I Care’ volunteer to pose. Her band has recorded an EP and has played in many venues throughout Ontario such as the Horseshoe Tavern and Dock Ellis in Toronto, the Mansion in Kingston, The Queens and The Rec Room Barrie, and The Band Crawl in Waterloo. Many thanks to her fellow bandmate Jessica who did marvellous as my studio assistant. The guitar was provided by Leighla.

History - The electric guitar first commercially sold in 1931 was designed by George Beauchamp of the National Stringed Instrument Corporation. In 1934 the company was renamed the Rickenbacker Electro Stringed Instrument Company. The guitars were mostly marketed to jazz musicians.
